• A few comments to be aware:

  • Gas fees, which are transactions fees on Ethereum, are recently really high due to the large adoption of the chain. ETH is currently having on-going deployments of ETH2.0, which will enhance much of the pain-points experienced by users today. Folks refer to Ethereum (or other major chains, like Bitcoin) as Layer 1 (L1) chains. Layer 2 chains were created to run in parallel to the L1s that already improve our UX, such as faster transaction confirmations and lower fees. So most projects today you can interact with at the L2 level (i.e. Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon (L1 variation)). You can use them whenever the high gas costs is making you avoid web3 participation.
